N4754 : Polychromed terra-cotta bas-relief figure representing The Madonna, Child and St. John by Benedetto Da Maiano of Florence, 1442-1498. The Virgin is shown in a red robe with a halo supporting the nude Christ Child on a fold of checkered drapery, and guiding his right arm as he blesses the infant St. John looking up at the left while he holds his symbolic cross; cherubim with many wings in the upper corners. In a contemporary frame of carved and gilded wood, with molded cornice frieze decorated with a dotted design of circular medallions and scrolling, supported by fluted pilasters and molded base.
